Impose tarrifs on imports that are subsidized by currency manipulation.
Our trading 'partners' like China subsidize their exports by keeping their currency artificially de-valued. This needs to stop if the current Administration wants to increase US exports to meet their stated targets.

outlaw privatized, for-profit prisons
Granted, some people probably can't or won't be rehabilitated - but bringing in private, for-profit prisons does nothing to make the community better. They are bound, by their business model, to set people up to fail. I'm not saying that people who are in the process of paying a debt to society should be mollycoddled and given opportunities that law-abiding citizens can't get, but there are plenty of people who make a mistake that, with a little bit of counseling and a helping hand to get them started, can go on to be productive citizens and contribute to their communities.

Create a new tax bracket for companies that source a large % of their revenue from manufacturing.
Create a significant tax incentive through a new tax bracket for companies who decide to locate their manufacturing operations in the United States. This would stem the flow of our manufacturing jobs overseas by making the United States a less expensive, more appealing place to do business.

I want to see the businesses in the US to start caring for their employees, by raising wages!!!
Why do we see record profits for corporations, but the middle class doesn't see any benefits. All we see are higher health care premiums and less coverage. I have been on a wage freeze for 3 years and my wife had to take a pay cut just to keep her job.
Corporations look solely on the bottom line.
While small businesses see the employees as the rock that it's company is built on.38 votes -

Balance: Equate Labor & Union Rights with Shareholder Rights
Demand an end to journalists' one-sided examination of labor unions & labor rights WITHOUT the counter-balancing, off-setting "Shareholder Rights" examination. e.g., demanding labor contributions to be volunteer to political action committees WITHOUT demanding likewise with shareholders' money is bias and short-sighted, not to mention one-sided.

Heavy crack down on predatory and/or pay day loan businesses
These businesses are backed by the big banks who have been refusing loans to lower income people in certain neighborhoods. They then turn around and put working Americans into ridiculously high interest loans that become quicksand. It's interesting how I rarely saw these throughout the 80's and 90's, but since 2001, they've erupted across the landscape like a wildfire.

opening steel mills that were closed by buy outs from foeingn steel owners
foreign steel companies have bought out american steel companies and then dismanteled them so the could import their products from abroad with no US competition. legalize marijuanna
"Ever wonder what British Columbia’s most profitable industries are? Logging? Fishing? Tourism? Ever think to include marijuana? If you haven’t, think again. No longer a hobby for the stereotypical hippie culture of the ’60s, BC’s illegal marijuana trade industry has evolved into a seemingly unstoppable business giant, dubbed by those involved as ‘The Union’.
Commanding upwards of $7 billion Canadian annually"This is a quoat from a documentary called The Union: The Business Behind Getting High

Buy products made only in America.
Create a website that lists products that are made in the U.S.A. Whether it be clothes, toys, electronic gadgets, etc. By supporting companies that have not shipped jobs overseas will create more jobs and improve our economy.

Small Business Expansion
Find the top 10,000 small businesses in the country. I'm talking businesses with 20 or fewer employees. The bakery, bookstore, pizzeria, card maker, landscaper, clothing label. Give them loans to take them to the next level and open a new location. We'll increase jobs, improve neighborhoods and help our best entrepreneurs expand. The next Hallmark, Papa Johns or Urban Outfitters is out there waiting.

Corporate Tax elimination for one year.
Corporate Tax elimination for one year. The corporate tax that was paid to the US Government was about $318B. This is less than the $800 Billion stimulus plan. But the key here is to close the loop holes that allow major corporations to avoid paying zero taxes. So for one year zero taxes but you must increase your staff by 25% or you do not get the tax break. You see in the same bill you remove the loop holes and so the companies that are not paying taxes have to hire people in order to not pay taxes.

Stop Corporate Welfare
Plain and simple -- stop corporate welfare. Make corporations, especially the giant multi-nationals, use their own profits to fund anything and everything having to do with their cost of doing business, research and development, etc. Corporations are too cozy with federal and state governments. They need to operate their businesses with corporate cash, not from American taxpayer dollars.

clean energy business
Dylan I love your show and i watch it as often as i can. I have an innovative business idea that i am trying to acquire grants/funding to get off the ground. The business would use green energy and create much needed jobs. Unfortunately I am unemployed and poor and most of the grant information that i find says that i need to already have a business or tax exempt organization in order to be eligible to receive grants. I am hoping that maybe you can offer some help as i am becoming discouraged by the lack of opportunities for… more
