Invest in offshore wind energy
The mid-Atlantic wind bight can supply over 50% of America's energy. This will provide clean, renewable energy and domestic jobs because wind turbine parts are too expensive to transport long distances. Everyone wins with wind.

Bring Back the WPA & hire laid off workers to do green energy retrofits on all US Homes
Restore the WPA to hire laid off construction workers directly and go door to door nationwide making all homes 65% more energy efficient within next 10 years. This will help the environment by reducing CO2 emmissions, create millions of jobs, reduce our dependence on imported oil from the Middle East, give homeowners more cash to pay down their mortgages immediately, and save the lives of our young military men and women who currently have to sacrifice their lives protecting the oil lanes in one of the most volitol parts of the world.

Solarize Industrial Parks - tie with mini-smart grid
Use massive acreage of unused Warehouse rooftops in Industrial districts to create small self sufficient Energy Parks. A minimum of ten warehouses tied together with a mini Smart Grid (intelligent), that meters energy with demand and distributes. Excess is piped of to main grid or substation. Call them energy Pods to keep to a managable level, so company can be involved in the success and metering (nice graphics for employees to view). Great for company green ad campaigns and most of all...jobs. If this became a nationwide model, would have multiple benefits...lower high energy demand districts that clog up main… more

inform the nation about The Orion Project - it is set up to stop the suppression of inventions.
I have recently taken up a cause to inform as many people as possible about the The Orion Project www.orionproject.org. I invite you to check the subject website. It is a group whose mission is to remove the suppression of inventions by special interest groups. There is much to add. The suppression by the oil cartel and others involves such tactics as murder, intimidation, censorship, and buying out inventions and hiding them in the patent office. Please check the web site, then if you find it consistent with your ethics join the official Face Book page ‘The Orion Project’.… more

Small scale modular nuclear reactors. Economical, safe, green, high paying jobs. Lots of steel!
There are several start-ups developing small, 50-125MW nuclear reactors. If we chose to, we could accelerate their deployment and produce thousands of skilled manufacturing jobs, and thousands of MW of CO2 friendly, clean energy. We have all of the raw materials in America and the labor and IP to get this done now. The safety benefits of going smaller are enormous.

UPDATE NATIONAL POWER GRID
YOUR LOCAL POWER COMPANY IS WASTING ENERGY AND WANTS TO COLLECT $ 100/Mth from each home not $ 30 - $ 40. Our nations large energy producers are among the most inefficient in the world. We've been told to make our homes and appliances more efficient but your local power needs it most of all. How many jobs would this create?

High Speed Rail Commerce
Instead of the current primary idea of for tourism sell it as a dual program. Sell idea to American public first as Commerce linking ports to grain elevators to OEM's, Top 500 ports to top 1000 cities, replacing old rail. Secondary as form of tourism.

Grow Jobs with Sunlight
Build solar power plants funded 100% by tax and ratepayers. Use the revenues created from the sale of the solar electricity to enlarge the plants. The larger they get, the more they produce and get even larger. This will grow jobs with sunlight!

Impliment AGGRESSIVE carrot & stick national energy policy
As if our lives & future depended upon it. Aggressive INCENTIVES for alt energy creation. Aggressive TAX on polluting and imported energy... that will drive the market to fuel efficient cars and energy sources & usage. And reduce our import trade imbalances and reliance on foriegn sorces for our nation's energy... many of which are not friendly to American interests. Sin taxes work for a reason. Incentives work too. And providing "price floors" for alternative energy startup, survival, and ultimately thriving. It's in our long term interst to be self reliant.

Energy
Instead of just big wind farms we should put micro wind turbines on every power pole in the U.S..It would reduce the power loss inherent in power lines.

Use Solar power to eliminate dependence on oil for transportation, industrial process, and heating
Provide reliable, load following commercial electricity, for $0.01 per Kwh - far less than we pay today - across the country without building long distance transmission lines. Get the initial system online within ten years’ construction, able to handle about half U.S. demand when it starts up. Make the system rapidly scalable, to rapidly meet nationwide, and then international, demand. System must become profitable a reasonable time after coming online. Scalable to meet international demand and population growth in third world countries, so those countries can access cheap, clean, sustainable power to grow their economies.

Capping an undersea oil well, BEFORE an environmental disaster, with US technology.
Encourage investment & development of new, homegrown technologies. Like a remotely operated submersible, developed in Seattle by an amateur engineer, that can capture flowing oil from a broken wellhead & send it to a waiting ship. Solid quality industrial & high tech jobs can be created. Welding, electronics, engineering... all jobs that can be created to jumpstart the economy.

Build Fast Train across mid America with Electric Grid
An 8 hour trip from DC to SF with Fast Train spurs connecting north & south cities and existing fast lines. Use it as a national electric grid connecting to all the wind, solar grids. An unlimited number of jobs in numerous states

Mandate E85 Ethanol in every station.
Require every gas station to carry E85 Ethanol. I bought a flexfuel Ford Ranger and would run E85 Ethanol but its not available anywhere in my neighborhood. Replace the midgrade pump with E85. Raise food prices? Not if we eliminate the subsidies we pay farmers to NOT grow crops! Stop buying foreign oil when we can out compete any country in the world when it comes to agricultural production. This will give us a safe transitional sustainable fuel source until the electric cars and the hydrogen fuel cell technology can be brought on line. Current cars can run on E85… more

Actually IMPLEMENT the "Chimera" Automotive Architecture - Get OFF of "Our" Addictive OIL Dependency
Get SERIOUS about the "Chimera" Automotive Architecture exemplified by the (prototypical) Chevy VOLT (~230 mpg!!). But "evolve" it to use NICKEL (not scarce:Lithium), and "layer in" REGENERATIVE BRAKING!

Solar Power
Solar Under the Sun is sending volunteer teams to Haiti to convert water treatment plants to solar power. They can also generate efficient energy for cell phones, clinic appliances and orphanages. This faith-based action takes no tax dollars and provides life-saving resources. After the earthquake, such help has been crucial. Why not here too?
