54 Million are enduring hunger in the U.S., 3.5 million homeless and 43.6 million live in poverty. There are GREAT idea/solutions but no central meeting or 'Summit' to bring the organizations, government entities, etc. together with mobile apps, communications, distribution, media, funders, technology, food companies, marketers, the ideas that are working, etc.

We CAN solve these problems! We have enough food, empty homes and buildings but we need a national plan that the public is educated on and a method and venues to share our ideas so that we may re-build our fractured foundation and build America into a great nation once again.

America's problems are deep. They need address and journalistic focus. Few primetime soapbox platforms truly exist in America to address them in any meaningful, educational way. Dylan is doing so, and so is his frequent guest commentator and sub, young turk Cenk Uygur. MSNBC can elect to simply throw red meat to its audience, cross its fingers in hopes it can substain some viewership... OR... throw two stellar talents into its primetime who actually address BIG PICTURE issues and substance and tailor their program for progressives, independents, and moderate republicans. Dylan & Cenk are those voices... ready to lead in primetime.

Synergy. Dylan is doing STELLAR political economics work at msnbc, but stuck at 1pm pt. Rachel is doing good, highly entertaining political journalistic reporting in primetime. Why not a show for ALL of America to tune into and learn from? After all, we are engaged in a 30 yr run of voting against our own political interests as a nation, collectively. Take out any raw red meat, nor no more just singing to a progressive choir. The two would be DYNAMOS in primetime together and the nation would greatly benefit from it. Synergy. If CNN steals Dylan, it's msnbc's mega loss. Synergy is the sum greater than the parts alone. Indeed. Rachel benefits, Dylan benefits. We all benefit together. The sky is the limit on creative, changing formats & venues. These are two extremely high quality journalists and minds. Combined, even more so. Make a difference, msnbc. This is it.

Wow, couldn't believe my eyes. MSNBC primetime ads for Steel on Wheels! Don't know if it was for the benefit of Nucor or msnbc actually proud of its stellar content found within Dylan & gang's work. Next up on the "progress front" is for Dylan's Big Picture focus to start leeching into Hardball, Ed, Countdown, TRMS, Last Word content for issues that truly matter, beyond politics and point scoring. There is far too much "Singing to the Choir" in msnbc primetime. Not enough educational Big Picture focus, as Dylan does. Merging the two themes, msnbc would be doing the nation a HUGE public service, along with ratings growth, if it quit trying to out-fox Fox, and instead engaged in "Voters' Interests: Political Economics". Rebooting the country. Voters are both at the top of the political foodchain, and the bottom. Inept political leadership middlemen simply tells voters what they want to hear, that is obviously counterproductive. MSNBC rehasing all that is just further counterproductivity and wasted air time. Look at the empire killing results. That's our fault, our problem... and it's OUR COUNTRY. 30 years of us VOTERS voting against our own interests is far too long and a primetime opportunity for msnbc to get its head & platform around. Enough of this unproductive primetime looking backward singing to the choir. Truly Lean this nation Forward via uniqe programming, starting with Dylan's themes, big picture look & examination, and narrative foundations. One no-brainer, better the nation move, would be to switch hours with the Ed Show, putting Dylan on at 6pm et, and one repeat hour to the DR Show. But let's mark OUR progress on the msnbc front nonetheless: DR Show mentioned in primetime! Now... if only the primetime anchors would recognize a prized inhouse asset as well and take a look at what Dylan & gang are doing.

if there is a stimulus package, make absolutely sure that it is used primarily to fix the infrastructure issues.

arm twist the labor unions to lower their wage rates and deliver on the promise to restore wages according to market rates when the economy recovers.

raise upper income tax rates, cut middle income tax rates, eliminate lower income tax rates.

use the govt leverage on the banks (threat of debt liquidation, moral cause) wisely to reform the banks and financial institutions- this includes the federal reserve.

include commodities in the USD to restrict govt ability to print money out of thin air.

security issues will abound throughout the reform, but they MUST take secondary seat because fear cannot be the driving factor for reform.

DR for sure & ???. To become a powerful change agent & ratings engine. Content with less than 1/2 the ratings of Fox's insanity and a distant 2nd place? Not remotely good enough. Be bold msnbc in the post KO era: the soapbox has potential beyond your wildest hopes, for the full spectrum of viewers & US impact, NOT simply progressive radio for TV in primetime. A two hour GRAVITAS show combining DR Show with ???... Rachel's TRMS? The Young Turk? Last Word? Bringing back KO? CNBC talent David Faber? The next progressive star? Imported talent? Think outside the box to be the change agent MSNBC can truly be. A show documenting, presenting how voters at the top of the food chain have taken their own country off its tracks would be enlightening, interesting, and captivating. The purpose is to phase out the current system and replace it with a private system without leaving our kids with nothing. Basically the Feds would create a private account for each child under 15 yrs of age and call it a Government Retirement Account (GRA). This account would be fully owned by the individual not the government, the government would start the account with a credit of $25,000 and the accounts would have time on its side to accrue interest and grow. Existing private retirement accounts like 401k's and IRA would continue to be around and work to be a supplement to the GRA account. The birth rate in the US is about 4 million a year so the annual cost once established would be about $125 billion which is extremely cheap compared to the current cost of social security in 2010 of over $700 billion. It puts our government in a place where it can afford to pay for the program and gives our kids a retirement plan which they will be responsible for. These accounts would be restricted to conservative and well diversified investments. The result would be a huge influx of cash to the capital markets thus promoting job creation through business expansion. Also, we would eliminate social security benefits over the next 3 years for anyone currently collecting it who is making over $150,000 a year reducing existing costs.
