We should only give aid when a country has a disaster and human life would be lost with our help. I wonder what countries give aid to the US? We have had several catastrophic events....did we get aid from anyone? No US foreign aid just because anymore!!!!

And nobody should have to be saddled with costly monthly medical costs because they have the misfortune of having a chronic health condition. My oldest son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12. My ex and I were lucky that we had good health insurance but the monthly co-pay for prescriptions (usually 4/month @ $30/script....that's $120 every month just for the 2 types of insulin, test strips, needles, and that's if nothing else happens), dr. appointments, hospital, labs, etc., we were paying at least $350/month on average (my son was in the hospital in the ICU twice within a 15 month period). The first stay was for 3 days, the second was 4 days in the ICU with the total bill at $58,000, our portion/responsibility was $6,400). Two years later he had Appendicitis with a hospital stay of 3 days because they burst. Total for that stay $23,000 and our portion was around $4,000. We were paying on medical bills for several years....how is my son ever going to be able to put some money in savings or buy a house, afford children, etc. EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD HAVE FREE FOR NO MORE THAN $1500/YR OUR OF POCKET MEDICAL COSTS. The 1% of the US population who have a majority of the wealth in this country could pay 10% of their $36,000,000/yr income toward paying for health care to make up for the ever increasing gap between rich/middle/poor. Everyone should have to pay towards their health care, that is what makes responsible consumers.
